BENEFITS/DISABILITY COUNSELING - HIV/AIDS
Provides public benefits counseling to persons infected with HIV/AIDS and represents those clients in public benefits and disability cases. The project provides legal representation for the indigent and the medically indigent in the areas of housing, consumer, and family law. Provides information presentations to persons infected with HIV and to their caregivers. Assistance is given with applications and appeals for Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability. Assistance is also available with the application process for Medicaid, Medicare, Food Stamps, General Relief, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
